Southwold is famous for its timeless character and distinctive features. The town is a living postcard,
renowned for:
Colourful Beach Huts: Over 300 brightly painted beach huts line the promenade, creating a picturesque
and iconic backdrop to the sandy shore.
The Adnams Brewery: As the home of the world-famous Adnams brewery since 1872, the scent of hops
often drifts through the air. You can learn about its storied past and sample award-winning beers and
spirits on a fascinating tour.
The Historic Lighthouse: Standing proudly amidst the town's rooftops, the Southwold Lighthouse has
guided ships since 1890 and remains a working beacon.
A Rich Maritime Past: Southwold's history is deeply intertwined with the sea, from its days as a prosperous
fishing port to its role in the Battle of Sole Bay in 1672, a major naval engagement fought just offshore.
With a minimum of 4 hours and 30 minutes to explore, you'll have ample time to create your perfect day.
Our designated drop-off and pick-up point is the Coach Park by the Pier, giving you immediate access to
all the highlights.
Here are some of the fantastic activities you can enjoy:
Walk Southwold Pier: A stroll along the iconic pier is a must. Don't miss the eccentric and whimsical
coin-operated machines of the "Under the Pier Show," a truly unique and hilarious experience for all ages.
Explore the Town Centre: Wander through the narrow streets and admire the beautiful Georgian architecture.
Discover independent shops, art galleries, and quaint tea rooms.
Visit the Alfred Corry Lifeboat Museum: Delve into Southwold's heroic maritime history at this museum
dedicated to the town's historic lifeboat, which saved 47 lives between 1893 and 1918.
Indulge in Local Flavours: Treat yourself to some of the freshest seafood in the region, or enjoy classic
fish and chips with a view of the sea.
Unwind on the Beach: Simply relax on the pristine, sandy beach, rent one of the famous beach huts, and
soak up the peaceful atmosphere.
