Exmouth's sandy beach is located directly across the road from the Cavendish Hotel. There are well kept parks just a short walk away, including the Strand Gardens and Manor Gardens, both well-known for their beautiful floral displays.

Exmouth has good shopping with an indoor market and a pedestrianised high street, as well as Georgian pubs and high quality restaurants serving a variety of local and international dishes. The yacht harbour and railway station are both within a few minutes walk from the Cavendish Hotel.
