Bedford School - Late Bus Service Overview

 

The Harpur Trust Late will resume on Monday 8th September and is a demand led service.  If there  is no requirement for a particular day... it wont run.

 

Please be aware that the continuation of this service beyond next half term will depend on the service being adequately used.  If the numbers remain low then the Late Bus will stop at Half term.

 

For parents returning from last year new credits will need to be purchased as there is no rollover.

 

Early booking is advisable

 

The Late Bus Service is exclusively available for students from the following schools:

• Bedford Modern School (BMS)

• Bedford School (Boys)

• Bedford Girls' School

 

Please note that we do not accommodate students from any other schools. If you do not use Three Star Coaches for your regular school transport, you are still welcome to access our Late Bus Service.

Ticketing Information:

 

To utilise the Late Bus Service, purchasing "credits" for your journey in advance is required. Click on the "Book Now" link to secure your tickets. Ticket options include:

• Single Journey: 1 Credit = £7

• 5 Journey Tickets: 5 Credits = £35

• 10 Journey Tickets: 10 Credits = £70

 

Expiry date for these credits are 17th October 2025

To book this Service, please follow the following steps:

Whatsapp Colin on 07771 622188 with the following details

- Child's Full Name

- The Date Required

- The school attending

- The drop off point

Then wait for a thumbs up emoji from Colin, this means your child will be booked on the bus.

 

Service Guidelines:

 

Service Schedule: The Late Bus operates Monday to Thursday.

 

Registration: A register is maintained for all students utilising this service.

 

Student Safety: Please ensure your child is capable of waiting independently. It is highly recommended for students to carry a mobile phone for emergencies.  there will be no supervisors at Bedford School (Boys) or Bedford Girls' School.

 

Waiting for the Bus: Students should be prepared and on-site at the designated pick-up points. The bus will typically be a Three Star Coach.  However on occasions there could be a Company car for two passengers or less.  If the car is used a registration no. will be sent out with the drivers name.

 

Delays: Coaches may occasionally be delayed by 5-10 minutes, particularly when returning from sports fixtures with the Harpur Trust. Notifications will be communicated through the app.

 

Driver Information: The driver for the Late Bus may be different from the regular school bus drivers and could be unfamiliar to students.

 

Booking and Cancellations: Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in exclusion from future bookings. Weekly service notifications will be shared via the WhatsApp group by Monday evening. Same-day cancellations will result in the loss of your credit.
